Heart-Centered Psychotherapy allows you to:
“Heart-Centered Psychotherapy is a process of healing, engaging, relearning skills, and restoring equilibrium. Working with Somatic Experiencing as a touchstone, movement happens to reduce activation at a cellular level, accessing a felt-sense of one’s trauma. The instinct to heal and self regulate engage body sensations that occur when one moves out of paralysis.
Tired of talk therapy? Tired of being stuck? Come experience the depth of your true essence and learn how to access and release the pain locked in your body. My work with Somatic Experiencing (SE) deepens the experience of therapy, allowing for the release of traumatic stress, shame, grief, and anger that reside in the nervous system. This work enables you to get beyond your story, that you know only too well; this allows for the natural vitality and curiosity you were born with to return.
My work with clients integrates SE with EMDR and relational work, offering mindfulness as the core of the work. Psycho-education is offered to learn how to befriend the pain that has held you back, gently defining the course of the work together as a team. My hope is to empower you to decide how far you want to go in this work.
*Accessing information in the body
*Understanding and experiencing emotions
*Moving from stuck negative beliefs
*Deeping a relationship with oneself and others
Having worked with the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered community for as long as I’ve been in private practice, I reflect my understanding and awareness of the cultural issues, oppression, and their impact on relationships with self, as well as with others. Diverse sexual orientations are validated and understood. The gender queer community is welcome.
“Compassionate, supportive, empowering, and dynamic” have been used to describe my work.
